IAM, the UK‘s largest independent road safety charity conducted a study over a four year period to determine how and why crashes happen in a bid to help prevent them in the future.
This study took factors such as sex, age and driving experience into consideration while carrying out the research.
Overall it determined that men are nearly twice as likely to be involved in a collision due to being careless or reckless and that they are also more likely to crash because of poor behaviour or inexperience.
However before us ladies get too confident we aren’t completely faultless when it comes to accidents below are a few statistics from the report:
Simon Best the Chief Executive of IAM reported “we need to look at the psychology of male drivers to reduce risky behaviour and over-confidence, but for both sexes accidents could be easily reduced by improving driver skills and lives could be saved.”

Ladies I think this is a good time to get back in the driving seat and show men how to do it!
